Austin finally got his glasses. He is so handsome in them. He has had them for over two weeks. With his new glasses he is now our official sign reader. Everywhere we go he reads all the signs to us.
I'm not sure what he is munching on but that is why his cheeks are bulging. (Sort of reminds me of the squirrel below.)
I think he looks older in them. He wont go anywhere without them. I worried that he would be a little shy about wearing them like I was when I was his age but he doesn't seem to be affected at all and that is such a good thing.
We went to the Nature Park the other day and came face to face with... well...nature...
This brave little squirrel was up in a tree. (Let's call him Fred.)
I thought Fred would vanish into thin air when he saw me but instead he barreled down the tree and made a B-line for me. That made me kinda nervous (thinking about rabid squirrels and all:) ) so, I backed up a few steps but he wasn't offended in the least and kept just kept on coming straight for me. He got so close that I had to scare him away by stopping my foot a couple of times to get the message across that I didn't want to hold him...I think he would have climbed right up on my lap if I would of let him! He was looking for food but I didn't have any...sorry Fred! So, on another animal subject...we love both our pets and give both ample attention (maybe to much :)) but... there is something quite strange when your puppy decides to pet your kitty. When I first saw it I thought it was a fluke or that Shy Anner Bananer was trying to play with Lilly. But soon I figured out that their play was a lot more rough than this so it wasn't play and it certainly wasn't a fluke because Shy Anner Bananer does it quite regularly. I haven't caught it on video yet but Shy Ann is quite happy to pet Lilly across her back with her paw. Here are two pictures I was able to get. Shy stands above Lilly on the steps (because they are nearly the same height) And puts her paw on Lilly's head then she moves it across her back in a receptive motion just like she is petting her. Very strange. But Lilly Cat loves it. (Which is also very strange.) I can't figure out the meaning of it...maybe I never will :)

The pictures are blurry but there is no mistaking it. Lilly Cat loves to have her back rubbed no matter who does it!
